Takumi 「匠」is an attitude cultivated by the Japanese people since ancient times.

It embodies an implicit respect for nature, humility, compassion, integrity and cherishing the masterful hand craftsmanship of objects.

Many Takumi also have a playful and free-spirited quality, which is what we as architects appreciate in our daily lives.

 

This year the t o o k a *pop-up shop* will be held at Loop, the *off-space beyond architecture* and alter ego of pool Architekten.

We have curated a number of objects that reflect a sense of Takumi, keeping in mind the spirit and interests of architects. 

You are invited to come by and enjoy a firsthand experience of exploring Japanese handicraft and artisanship.

Dear t o o k a fans and friends, old and new!

We are sad to announce that we will have to cancel our t o o k a event this year.

This past year, we had an unexpected family situation and additionally new plans for our future.

We’ve always been energetically preparing and giving thoughts to t o o k a, so it was not an easy decision to make.

It is a pity to miss you all this year, but we will be powering up and coming back with lots of delightful, inspiring new objects in 2020!
